Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone's day has gone well. I am thankful for friends like you. And I'm thankful that we made it thru the dinner without politics! And doubly thankful for the dual Star Trek & the Simpsons marathons. I am a content woman. I tried to get Mom into a holiday drinking game with me. We're watching the Star Trek Marathon. My plan is this: 1 drink for every time Bones says 'He's dead.' Spock says 'Fascinating' Scotty says 'I canna' Sulu says 'course set' Uhura says 'hailing frequencies' Chekov says something stupid about Russia and two drinks for every time Kirk gets his shirt ripped/removed.

Mostly Mom and Dad had cooked everything a couple days ago and we were just making the turkey today. It came out fantastic. I took a picture but it's upstairs and I am still too full of food to bother lifting my butt off this couch. The Rex Goliath moscata red wine I brought was delicious.

Lucky Uncle and his wife came too. I think she was NOT thankful for me (or Mom). She has arthritis in her spine and literally from 4 pm when she arrived til 8pm when she left that was ALL she talked about (at least it wasn't politics because she's the unfortunately combination of liberal but a big believer in fake news and random bullshit and hurts the cause because she talks nonsense. My other aunt is the same way. It's like you're making us liberals look like idiots....)

BUT My mom has spinal stenosis and spinal arthritis. I have spinal arthritis, two torn hamstrings and a hip in need of replacing. We've both had all the tests and injections she's having right now and we're not constantly milking it. "oh I can't walk (watch her walk that casino or the mall though) and going oh oh oh ow every time she moves. Now we understand some people have lower pain tolerances but she definitely did not appreciate a) not being the center of attention b) having us having all the same issues and proving you don't have to be a complete invalid.

Kanda enjoyed all the company. He loves Lucky Uncle and people. He was under the table all night.

I'm back to writing. Wish me luck. I'll bbl with a snippet and today's word count. I want to get to 43K

ETA - I failed to get to my goal but I still wrote nearly 2K today.

You're welcome. Ooh, I always appreciate a good cat foot warmer. None of the cats we have now are quite into doing that with me- honestly, ever since my dad went into partial retirement and is home more, the ones who like actually sitting on or against someone have picked him as their new favorite for that kind of thing.
