this day just keeps getting more bizarre
May. 24th, 2005 04:17 pmOkay so I go to the post office and find a letter from a college in PA (which shall remain nameless right now). I really wanted this school because it's rural, as rural as here or the one in OH BUT in 2-2 1/2 hours I'm in NYC or Philly and I'm an hour away from Penn State U. So I was a little downhearted figuring that the letter meant I've been rejected out of hand without an interview.
But no, they CANCELED the search, not for a lack of funding like a lot of the schools I've heard from, but rather because they felt they didn't have enough applicants and they'll be searching again in the fall for the spring semester and for me to reapply. I'm thinking a) most people should already HAVE a job by then and they think this will give them MORE applicants? and b) isn't this tatamount to saying you're not good enough and we're holding out for better applicants? I mean seriously, they didn't get enough applicants so to hell with the ones they did get. I'm pretty sure I'm insulted. I'm pretty sure that if I don't have a job I'll reapply since it's where I thought I'd like to be.
Heard back from Arkansas, they didn't seem offended by my email so go me.
and then I get to the library and I had put all the Lemony SNicket books on hold, being in various spots on the queue for various books. Well I got them...ALL of them. At once. Thank god they're short. Readers of the Daily Pulp be ready for a deluge of YA reviews.
things accomplished today - got my online teaching stuff done but can't figure out how to get it saved since it only wnats to save to my hard drive and nothing else
- got my appointment with a holistic nurse practitioner to get my diabetic medication
