I've been rejected

I was rejected from blood donation again. Sigh. My entire life I've not been allowed to donate. First I was too thin (IRONY) and most of my reproductive life I've been too anemic for the obvious reasons a woman would be. Now that I'm older I thought surely now I could. Nope. In fact I'm wondering why I'm 2 points lower than normal. I think I'll be making a doctor's appt just to be sure nothing is wrong. I had stopped taking my iron pills because my cycles are so much less now and I didn't think I needed them.

And my finger looks like she shot it with a bb gun instead of little lancet, swollen and blue. Sigh.

I've been busy making and remaking jewelry for the steampunk ball. I made my seahorse one (the theme is 20000 leagues under the sea) and it was so tiny it wouldn't fit and I wasn't sure how because I measured it out at 20 inches. I remade it which was better (still a bit short).

Today I realized that it was 20 inches it was 20 cm. duh. I made my second one, octopus this time. It came out perfect, wore it for 2 minutes and the damn thread broke. bangs head. I'm leaving it to tomorrow or friday to restring.

I don't know if I'll be going to the library part of the ball. I have the last two times. It's supposed to be delightfully cool but it's SUCH a long day and unlike everyone else, I can't go home and rest for a few hours before the ball (as I live an hour away). If hotel rooms weren't so damn expensive I'd get one for the night.

A book I had won came today and they had put a second on in the mailer so I'm very happy.

Well, at least your reasons for not donating are medical rather than just being a chickenshit like me. (I honestly don't think I could handle having a needle in my arm that long. The one time I had to have six vials of blood drawn for tests, I had an all-out panic attack. That's the only time in my life that's ever happened to me, and it freaked me the hell out.)

If six vials of blood gives you a panic attack you're right, you are not suited for blood donation. That takes like two minutes (I have to do it every 3 months). Luckily needles don't bother me.
