Well I got my lyric challenge story for  the btvsats_lyric  community and thanks to sarakat  for the lyrics. It's a Buffy centric piece set  after Chosen.  Life just isn't easy without HIM.

Love love love it! I love your use of the lyrics. I love the sense of desperation and lonliness you gave Buffy. Hell, I even love the B/A-ness of it. Bravo!!

I'm glad you liked it. I'm glad her feelings came over strong.

And I'm curious if you read it as B/A because you know that's what I usually write (though I've written a few almost Spuffy's in the past) Since if you look close, I never specify which vampire she's talking about. Figured everyone would decide for themselves who it is

Well since I abhor spuffy, I'm much more likely to see B/A in this than anything else. Looking back, as soon as I read the word "Him", in my mind it meant Angel.

It was designed that way. I figure if my Spuffy friends are reading it, they'll assume that and if my B/A friends are reading it they'll read Angel.

I really enjoyed this fic, particularly how you wrote completely within canon and actually managed to present reasonable explanations for things that happened in Season 5. I liked the quiet introspection of this fic-- it's not really your predominant style of writing in the Buffyverse but you do a great job of it :)

I *love* this story, Dana!! I was getting ready to go to bed and thought, "Well, I'll bookmark this to read tomorrow when I have a break at work." HA! Sat right down and read it.

Like Maren said, I love how it's completely in canon and you explain some of the stupid S5 crap (I love that season but don't get me started on my problems with it). Since I'm me, I read "Him" as Angel (OMG, B/A 4eva!!11eleventy-one!1! *G*) but when I re-read it, I took a Spuffy slant and damn if it didn't work perfectly with them too!

Great Buffy voice throughout the entire piece. Fantastic job!!

Thanks. I'm so glad everyone's enjoying it. LIke I said, I took one look at the lyrics and couldn't imagine anyone but Buffy for them. I don't write her very often but I thought okay, why not.
