2017 continues to suck it

I went to see my friend today. got stuck in traffic thanks to a very bad (probably fatal) accident less than a mile from her house. Luckily her husband came to fetch me and show me another way there (as the gps kept looping me back to the road the accident was on.) We had a very nice visit. It wasn't long enough. It never is. I wish I could move back home...

On the way home, I got blinded by some ass in a truck with high beams and sailed past my exit. No problems, I could get there from another turn on that same road. I did but I forgot there was a section where the 45 mph went to 25 and I got nailed for a 200$ speeding ticket. He mocked me a little, how could you not see me (and slow down)? Sorry sir but it IS dark and I was honest, sorry I was speeding but I was having a diabetic attack and I wanted home before it got bad. I think he appreciated me not being an ass to him. He offered to get me something from the quickie mart we were next to and while he did get me the ticket, he didn't put it thru so it would go against my license or insurance or me having to go to driving school. I'm oddly not that angry about it (which is amazing because I'm an angry person). I knew today would get a ticket. I did. I honestly thought it would be on the highway. I felt it was coming, strange as that seems. It's been twenty years since my last one so there's that.


I'm sad that 12_daysofficmas seems to be broken.

And now Dad's sick and of course being an absolute baby about it just in time for a snow fall to stick me here. Could be worse, I could be my 18 yo cousin who's going to school in Erie. We don't know how we're getting him there because they got 67 inches of snow in the last week and 10 more are due this weekend (it's a record).
