Time Travel & Technology drabbles
Jun. 12th, 2005 05:17 pmThe first two are for the time travel challenge and the second two for the technology (in case it wasn't blatantly obvious)
Angel – Chilling Future
Angel watched the shimmering display, saw the hard blue eyes of a predator, the whip like body of his son leading the platoon of warriors, descendants of Willow’s spell and government special forces, Slayers and the new Initiative all but overwhelmed by demonic forces. “And this is a hundred years from now?” Disbelief colored his voice. “How is that possible?”
The PTB’s new emissary gazed at Angel sadly. “Your son is half demon. Whatever made you think he’d age like a normal human? He was prophesized to save the world.”
The portal into the future closed. Trembling, Angel went numb.
Cordelia – Glimpse of the Past
She knew she wasn’t really there, that she was on a higher plane but Cordelia could feel the wind on her cheek. The ripe stench of raw sewage burned her nose and left an oily taste in her mouth. Then she saw them, the pretty blonde and her tall companion. Figures Darla would be totally overdressed but the hair, Cordy could have wished for that much curl.
They brushed past her close enough that she could feel the rough wool of Angelus’ jacket. Cordelia didn’t want to see what happened next but she did, saw it, heard it, felt it.
Fred/Gunn/Connor – Technology or Demon? btw S3/S4
“Fred, that’s the third thing he’s destroyed thinking it had a demon in it.” Gunn held up the remains of his cd stereo.
“He doesn’t know what technology is, Charles.” Fred smiled at him. “Be thankful you explained that the truck wasn’t eating you or Connor might have killed it, too.”
“This isn’t funny.” Gunn pouted and she kissed his cheek.
“At least we’ve introduced him to those crazy technological advances known as toilets and showers.”
A crash echoed in the Hyperion. Connor appeared, beaming. “Another demon dead.”
Fred looked, shrieking. “My computer!”
It was Gunn’s turn to laugh.
Giles/Jenny – The Willing Luddite S2
“I just don’t understand technology,” Giles moaned as Jenny leaned over his shoulder, her cashmere cloaked breasts brushing against him.
“It’s not all that hard, Rupert. Just watch.” Jenny put her hand over his on the mouse and guided him along. “See?”
“No, not really.” Giles smiled. Her perfume reminded him of a spring day in the Cotswald’s.
Jenny pulled up a chair, her knees touching his, as she explained his computer troubles. He didn’t even look at the screen, concentrating instead the deepness of her eyes. What could he mess up next time to ensure another close up tutorial?

Date: 2005-06-13 03:33 am (UTC)I'm afraid you're going to need a harpoon to go gigging for whatever that...that thing is. Plus something to take care of the baboon-dog, while you're at it.
Hey, sounds like fun!

Date: 2005-06-13 07:02 pm (UTC)I didn't mention it but last week, when I was walking the dogs in the park, a butterfly molested me twice. Dove down and landed on my chest, fluttered at me, flew off then dove down again.
Wacky bugs.
