getting ready

Well the first 8 boxes are out and in their way. All comic books, books and videos. Sigh. At least it was media mail and cost under 50 $ (unlike the two gifts I mailed which were light weight and still managed to cost nearly 10$ a box) Now to get the clothing and bathroom stuff sealed up! Everything is almost all packed. Now to determine what has to be mailed and what can be put in that little car.

I'm flying out tomorrow. I expect this to be arduous. From here to Minneapolis to Washington DC and finally to Bluefield WV, 9 total hours of flight time (there was a slightly cheaper flight that added in a stop in Detroit too and was 12 hours longer and since I was flying back on my birthday on Friday I said no way.).

The school is going all out, like it was a big university. I'm with them all morning then lunch with the students then all afternoon then I have to do my 45 minute seminar (which they're advertizing all around the school. Oh spiffy) then dinner with the faculty. And then I leave at 6 AM the next day and since it's like an hour's drive from the B&B to the airport I'll be getting up like at 330AM. ICK.

I'm just praying the severe thunderstorms won't stop me from leaving tomorrow morning. If I don't make it there, you can guess who'll be eating that 800$ plane ticket.

I sympathize with you on the flight. It's such a chore but I'll keep my fingrs crossed for you that it's good and that your day at the school goes well.
