Spoke briefly to my former boss and he's kindly agreed to look into both schools for me. He is very leery of the fact that these guys are telling me they have to readvertise the position since he's unfamiliar with that practice and he's been doing this a while. He seems to think (as do I) that them being forced to hire someone at the last minute means that they took the first person they had on hand and could easily discard me once they have time to do a proper national search. We'll be getting together at the bar to talk about this tomorrow or monday.

ETA apropos of nothing, a turtle has decided my red dog driveway is THE place to lay her eggs. Sigh.

Okay, I'm just catching up on the flist now so I'm guessing this means you were offered the job? First off, congratulations on that but I think you're right to talk this over some more with your boss. This is a big decision you have to make so it's good to discuss it with it however many people you need to feel comfortable with what you decide. Good luck, darlin'!
