Disclaimer - Sing the chorus. I don’t own them (well, Tin Man Darts, Misty and Night Rain are mine along with some of the new Slayers), Joss does. No harm intended, no money made, thank you for letting us borrow them for a while.
Timeline – This is set post series for both Buffy and Angel and was originally started before the last season of Angel so it goes alternative reality from the end of S4, disregarding Not Fade Away and any and all of the comic books.
Rating - R
Characters - Way too many of them. All the major players from both shows so Buffy & Dawn Summers, Willow, Xander, Giles, Spike, Angel, Gunn, Fred, Wesley, Faith, Connor, Cordelia, Kate, Lilah and Lorne.
Pairing - Buffy/Angel, Gunn/Fred, Giles/OC
Summary - More than ten years after Angel gave up his son, Angel Investigations has a strange new case. One of the young new Slayers training with Buffy at the ‘Slayer school’ in LA has turned up dead just like a half dozen or so street kids leading Angel, Buffy and their friends into a very dark world of hopelessness to find the evil is after one of their own.
Warningsalternative reality, on page drug use, mentions of child abuse (but not seen on page), sexually suggestive, no more violence than would have been seen in the shows.

Author’s Note #2 – I created a playlist on YouTube of all the songs featured in the story. To be fair, they were selected more for their lyrics than how they fit together musically. It is, eclectic at best and you can find it here
When I Started - OMG can you believe, I started this in 2003 and banged out almost twenty chapters in short order. I’m an unapologetic Connor fan but I hated big chunks of the storyline, mostly because it made no sense. This grew out of that, especially when I thought ‘magic never goes right in this universe.’
How I Lost My Shit In 2000 I suffered a career-ending injury and in 2003 I was finishing up my second advanced degree to go start my new career. I was dealing with the depression of never being a surgeon again and starting a job I wasn’t entire sure I wanted to do even though I’m pretty well suited to it. Depression coupled with finishing the thesis and then moving across country ate up all desire to finish this. I knew I wanted to finish someday because I loved this story. And to be honest other fandoms crept in on me carrying a new passion whereas the Buffyverse was no longer on TV and my fandom friends had dispersed to new places. I started back up again in 2008-2009 and got another couple chapters done but lost my shit again when I was offered my first publishing contract. Not going to lie, publishing professionally doesn’t give you much time to work on fanfic (even though fanfic remains fun!)
How I Finished My Shit This nearly 160K manuscript was finished in part because fans of it kept asking ‘are you EVER going to finish?’ and in part because of Wipbigbang on livejournal (so thank you!). I knew if I just set aside everything else I could finish this. I wrote 37K on this in like six weeks. I’m still amazed. I was shocked at how easily I slipped back into my fanfic skin. They told me their story. Now they want to tell me what comes next.
