So I'm cooking all the things

So it's raining. Hard. All day. Could be worse right? Technically it is worse because it's supposed to go down to like minus 8 tonight (that's -22 for my non American friends) and turn to snow. I can handle the snow. It's all the ice on the lines that is likely to happen that's the problem because I lose power often and when you live in the middle of nowhere you're not a priority for repair.

So I've cooked a lot of things in preparation for having no power. Cooked off a pound of bacon and hard boiled a dozen eggs, there's a pizza and a whole roasted chicken, there's a vat of soup, not to mention chicken wings, ham BBQs, a pound of chicken deli meat, two loaves of bread, peanut butter and jelly and bagged snacks.

I feel so much like my grandmother right now.

I didn't post yesterday because my blood sugar was SO high I couldn't think. It wasn't great today but better than yesterday.

I still have 2 stories to finish for fandom_stocking but the reveals have happened (except we're waiting on AO3 to be opened). I have some cool stuff that I'll link to another time. I want to finish the novella edits while power is still a thing.

Better than be safe than sorry is a cliché for a reason. May as well have the food prepped. Worst case scenario is you end up eating it all reheated. Worst case, you have cooked food!

I'm still waiting for medie to hop online to unlock the AO3, but a good chunk of the gifts are open on the DW side at least so people can have fun with that. People have also been posting things all day in steady numbers, so it'll be good for everyone to check back as they might have gotten something new since this morning!

Exactly. If the worst doesn't happen (it's now 5 pm and it's still rain) then I don't have to worry about what's for dinner for a week.


Yeah I see AO3 isn't unlocked yet and I've been back a bit to look at my stocking just in case.

Yay. That works for me. I'm already insane. I also lost track of time which Kanda informed me of by coming over and jabbing me in the ass and meowing. Oops. I forgot dinner time

haha I used to live in WI. That's a balmy day there in Three Lakes. (It would get to 20 below for weeks)
