Because I'm sure you're dying to know what happened to my teeth. When to my cousin's dentist today (figure if my cousin's been in the dental field for 20 odd years and she trusts him that's saying something). He gave me the antibiotics for Mr. Ugly Tooth and then informed me that my other dentist must have been trying to pay for that ritzy dental office in Florida because the two teeth he said were cracked, aren't.
The one that's infected does need a root canal caused by me grinding my teeth at night and like I suspected, the reason I can't abide night guards is because of my TMJ and in fact they're counterindicated for me (which I saw on the OTC ones). AND the reason my crown hurts so damn much is the nerve from that root canal regenerated. Oh, it won't regenerated in my hand where I want it to but if it can regenerate in my mouth and cause intense pain then by all means.
Weirdest thing, my mom's side of the family has nearly no enamel on their teeth and she, her sister (my cousin's mom) and her brother all had their teeth extracted in high school (back in the years of no fluoride). My cousin put up her dental x-rays up against mine...let's just say I hope we won't need them to tell us apart. They've very very close in the number of filled cavitys and crowns. sheesh

Date: 2005-07-07 12:54 pm (UTC)I hate the dentist. Funny thing is, I never used to. The older I've gotten, the more painful it is. I would've thought it would have been the other way around.
Got the teeth grinding thing going myself. Actually have bite-guard I wear at night, got it from the dentist. Supposed to last forever, actually BIT the first one in half.
If that's not some dental strength, I don't know what is.
