A weird day
Jan. 22nd, 2020 10:51 pmI finally had heat in my office but then the classrooms were cold. Can we have both the right temp?
Someone threw literally a bookcase worth of books into the recycler by work today. Mostly romance. I fished them out and now look like a bookmobile. Will give them to local friends and the library but it's like who does this? There were plenty I couldn't get to as well but I have at least three dozen in my car. Wacky.
My young cousin with Crohn's isn't doing well. They sent him home (in spite of him still throwing up) and i'm beginning to wonder if they even bothered to do a full body scan after treating his intestinal abcess because he has one in his stomach they had to drain today. This is serious stuff.
And in something less depression, here are more
There were some things that did bother me about the episode. Mostly just at the end. Like for instance a) why do they ALWAYS run upstairs b) Why not go out the front door where the REPORTERS were waiting c) for that matter HOW did Jess manage to get a team set up and answering phones in less than 12 hours d) where the hell was Jess's gun e) where the hell was Ainsley's cell phone (god those things always ruin scenes like this) f) Jess sweetie why didn't you grab the axe once you slammed him with the lamp and knocked his ass down (good on you for that)
But more importantly this : Been thinking about the ending of the winter premiere of prodigal son and wondering if some part of that is hallucination, either John's or Malcolm's because why would that trunk be there? rewatching showed no signs of that trunk. Could be John is knocked out cold no box. Hmm....
Talked this over with Mom. IN the background I hear Dad 'how did that tiny man with a broken hand, over take that huge man who had an axe?

Date: 2020-01-23 05:25 am (UTC)Good luck to your cousin. Sounds horrible.
Ahaha, that box is going to bug you forever if they don't mention why it was there or how it was there. Why they didn't run outside to the reporters made me roll my eyes too, but they never do, so I wasn't expecting better. I guess one could argue with Ainsley's head injury they were slowed down and cut off from the exits.
I loved it when she hit him with the lamp, though, even if she didn't pick up the axe. Go Jessica.

That box is already driving me nuts (already wrote fic about it!)
Yeah honestly I knew they were going to drag out the scene to give Malcolm time to get to them so they couldn't go out the front door. I would have liked it better if John had cornered them in the basement.
I was blaming Ainsley's head injury on why she didn't use her damn cell phone to call 911.
I did love Jessica's fighting spirit

AHaha, that's a proactive way to deal with it!
It would've made more sense that way, yes. Having them all run around the house was unrealistic, but TV. And yeah, I also blame Ainsley's head injury for why Jessica wasn't totally on point about leaving the house. I figure she was so worried she wasn't thinking straight.

People LOVED the story. Apparently that box bothered a lot of us.
Yeah but to be fair you don't know what you'd do in crisis. I used to be an actor in a haunted house (I MISS that) and I've seen countless people literally run into walls to get away. Great survival technique there.
