Write Every Day: Day 2

There's something in this one that makes me feel far less alone in how I manage my writing!

It was also suggested to try to rec posts a little earlier in the month so some time next week I'll give that a shot and give yinz the opportunity to showcase some of the things you're working on if you'd like!

Here's the tally. If I've forgotten you (I am Dorrie the fish and working the equivalent of three jobs right now so anything could happen) or you signed up a bit late, let me know. I'll be sure to add you! (And stop in later if you'd like to see my writing links post!)

For me- It was a day of work and not much writing. I got 363 words on Come Undone. It's the last chapter and I'm very sure that I will be dragging my heels. I do this every time with long works.

February will be a horribly busy month, so we'll see how much more I will write this month.

about 2k so far on the exchange story, in addition to several hours of reading up on various sources for research - not finished text, though, mostly draft versions, notes, and text written to work something out. This story is fighting me teeth nails and claws. *sigh* But it's getting written no matter the resistance. ;op

799 on the fic that must be written. *sighs* Thankfully, I'm finally past the awful part (well, for a given value of awful--the next part isn't sunshine and rainbows either), so I can move on to the dubious hurt/comfort aspects of the story. I have no idea why this story is being so insistent. *sighs harder*

Feb 2: A mix of transcription, revising, and composing, with a total of about 1K new words. I'd hoped for than that today, but yesterday was a massive blitz and I'm in a solid place to go back to longhand tomorrow, so we're calling it good.

Hi! I didn't write on day one or day two (too much fire!), but today I wrote a DW post (I count these as writing because they're so sporadic and take time to write), and made some notes on one of my wips.

(I'm in Australia, so today is Monday. Sorry if it's confusing.) (Also, I'll try to cool it with the parentheses. :)

607 words today, finishing one scene, finally sketching a dream sequence that is very much in the spirit of that CJ Cherryh quote, and the start of a scene that may or may not be necessary.

Not sure whether the next thing to do is stick with this POV and forge ahead to the next few bits of background action, or switch POVs and fill in some gaps as to what the kids are doing in the meantime. Or possibly jump way ahead and see if I can freewrite my way into a better final conflict / denouement for this whole thing. We'll see. There's hockey to watch tomorrow, too. Sports are distracting.

3rd: Spent this morning compiling various notes into my draft from 2018, and an hour or so in the library this afternoon, writing all over my printout for chapter 2. :-)

Day 2 - 350ish words and a complete re-arrangement of the piece, and the Hidden Figures challenge fic is I think complete.I'd like to get the companion Caprice challenge fic done as well before posting, but I won't let that get in my way.

I did a bunch of freewriting on prompts for this short course I'm taking. I meant to do more writing later, but that had to be enough, since I fall asleep after dinner and was so drowsy for the rest of the evening I didn't manage to write. But, at least I had written things. :-)

I really should have checked in last night. I was going to but my brain checked out.

Day 2 - 1200 words. Deja vu! This time it was all of the drabbles though; 10 for Doctor Who because I was running low in my stock of DW drabbles for posting. With what I had left from my last batch, posting 2 a week I now have enough for the next 8 weeks. Yay! Also wrote a double drabble for my drabble community.

Today I have to write more drabbles, just not DW this time.

More editing on old WIPs. It wasn't as successful as yesterday, but I made some progress on one story.

I misread sanguinity's comment above as "a mixture of transcription, revising and composting," heh. That's what I'm doing, though. Turning some old material over, with hopes something new will grow from it. ;-)
