Write Every Day: Day 12
Feb. 12th, 2020 05:39 pm
This writing prompt amused me because it sounds like me and my friends. Blergh been in meetings or grading all day with bunches more of the latter to go before I can write.
ETA - I managed to get 562 words on the original fiction novella I'm running out of time on. And 651 words on the Prodigal Son fanfic I'm also running out of time for.
Here's the tally. If I've forgotten you or you signed up a bit late, let me know. I'll be sure to add you!

Date: 2020-02-12 11:44 pm (UTC)I hope you find energy and time for words tonight. :-)
I wrote a 656-word something at the writing club earlier and then added 308 words to that Black Sails fic I'm working on. Gods, but I love Flint/Vane. *sighs*

Date: 2020-02-13 04:12 pm (UTC)Oh that's cool. Yeah honestly I have NO idea why we have off Good Friday but not Easter Monday so you'd have to travel back on the holiday itself. (we're not a religious school but still make some sense people)

Date: 2020-02-13 03:23 am (UTC)This is why other people do the full plotting in advance thing. You don't go wandering around by the seat of your pants working on side bits because you can't figure out a main plot point.
Also, ugh, grading. Unless you need to get in a headspace where everyone your character is dealing with is useless and frustrating and lacking in basic comprehension, in which case, I bet it's quite helpful.

Date: 2020-02-13 09:35 am (UTC)Only about 140 new words for me - I got my story back from the beta, put in the edits and posted it. Since I'm very finicky with the formatting I usually do the text markup at AO3 to get a neat result (also because I can't be bothered to write my text in html in the first place). Normally that's not a bother as I don't use much markup in the first place, but this time over a third of the story is in italics, of course mostly not in connected blocks, so the process took forever. *headdesk*

Date: 2020-02-13 05:20 pm (UTC)Ugh to all the busy work. I wish I could find a better way to make the paragraphs more distinguishable on AO3 but yay for posting it and getting more words out

Date: 2020-02-13 10:55 pm (UTC)I could write my text in html code, but I need it to be readable in WYSIWYG style to get a feeling for the text, and for that tags bother me. Converting my text markup to html tags is more bother than doing the text markup manually in the AO3 window, though, but it's still somewhat tedious. ;op
