I'm taking part of the
On dreamwidth, part fannish, part positivity, part get to know each other better, it's a lot of fun that I'm helping to mod (okay 'help' is loose in my case) and join us if you'd like.
Prompt One is red.
Wow, how does red make me feel? It's one of my favorite colors. For me, red is everywhere. It's the color I most often dye my hair. My futon is red, some of my curtains and towels, my sheets, my coffee pot and my pots and pans. My car is reddish. I had a favorite sexy red dress.
Red is the color of flame and I love fire in my way. I can watch a camp fire or fireplace flicker for hours. I love the smell of it, the crackling sound it make. I respect the power of the flame. I'm all about the flame characters. Human Torch, literally one of my earliest comic book loves. Did I like anyone more in Fullmetal Alchemist than Roy Mustang? I think not. Zuko was the first character I glommed onto in Avatar (and he even wears red and to be fair he's also the tragic character with the sad backstory and daddy issues), Todoroki on My Hero Academia is my favorite (oh look another flame boy with the sad backstory and daddy issues)
Red is loud and aggressive and in many ways so am I. If someone had to describe me by color, red might be one they used. It's the color of my blood that I have to see every day as I test my sugar (which went insane today)
Even many of my flowers are red or reddish like these
Like this red-orange lily
or this 'black' lily which is dark red.
And in a red uniform, have some timely Mr. Spock.

I might be back with more red, maybe a story or something. We'll see!
I am the worst with weasel/crutch words. I had 385 'that's to deal with in my novella edits, and 100s of other words. OMFG I worked like FOUR hours to remove/rework them but I'm still not done. I'm crying.
I'm crying over my sugar too. It shot up to nearly 400 today and all I had was protein. I don't know why.
I'm doing camp nano this month too. Anyone else?

I think my worst filler words are things like really, just, actually, very… I overuse them to the point where they have no meaning. They are just a literary "um" in the middle of my sentences. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

You are not alone. I misuse those too. I swear I did a search before I sent this to a publisher. I obviously didn't. I'm surprised they bought it
