Prompt 2: Orange
Orange is a warm color that is associated with a variety of things including: excitement, vitality, invincibility, speed, vigilance, dedication, loyalty, family, success, friendship, power, change, harvest, and warmth.
I have to say, orange isn't my favorite color. I don't hate it but it's one I do not gravitate to. Of course it does have things to recommend it. Oranges themselves for instance and the color of a sunset (I'm not a sunrise sort of person).
When I think of orange, I think of flowers and clay flower pots. I think of absolutely nothing in my house that is orange. My undergraduate university were the yellow jackets and instead of being yellow and black (which would have made sense since we're near Pittsburgh and that's the Steelers/Pirates colors) it was orange and black. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been black with orange highlights. No it was the other way around. My marching band uniform was a revolutionary war sort of thing in pumpkin orange and black piping. Ugh.
I own one shirt that's orange, just one and it's a Halloween thing.
Which brings me to the thing I like best about Orange. HALLOWEEN. My favorite holiday. Pumpkins, witches, all sorts of things in orange and black. I own so much of that, love it all. And I always want more Halloween.
Fandom wise wow, there's not much that comes to mind other than the Joker with his orange shirt or vest depending on who was drawing him. Fandom wise orange is a void.
So have some flowers and other orange things around the house
red-orange day lily
giant clay pot
light peach orange day lily
different red-orange day lily at my parents
close up of day lily
Got this one for Mom at Lilyfest
one of my favorite orange flowers, the type that leads to zucchini
more orange day lilies
Dad's Kubota, that's pretty orange (and so is the camera taking the picture)
another day lily
Daylily that's 2 oranges Today it was 98 degrees with a feel of 112. I helped the parents move furniture onto the newly repainted balcony. Helping dad, I dislocate my thumb, helping Mom she slices across my Achilles tendon. Come evening it rained so hard and it cooled off 20 degrees, thank god.

Date: 2020-07-08 11:28 am (UTC)Lovely orange pics! I used to not like the colour myself, too. It's still not one of my favourites (except for cats - give me gingers any gay *g*) but I enjoy a warm, intense, orange, just like the fruit, quite a lot these days. We have a bright orange fleece blanket on the linen-coloured sofa which gives a bright spot among a lot of nature and green colours, and, lately, also an old cushion from my parents, thick corduroy, very warm and brigth orange, typical 70s (from when it dates *g*). It looks awesome on the sofa, and has become the absolute favourite spot of ginger cat Snorri. *g*
(have an orange-coloured icon)

I'm okay with cooler summer days than this deadly heat
