Blue

Blue is a tranquil color that is associated with a variety of things including: balance, discovery, peace, calm, openness, patience, honor, grace, trust, depression, recovery, prophecy, respect, empathy, flexibility, and water.

Blue is easily one of my favorite colors. I can't think of a shade of blue I don't like. Blue skies, waters, flowers, they're all so lovely. Blue glass, is there anything better than cobalt glass? I covet every piece I see. I have plenty of blue clothing, blue blankets, Mom has blue pillows I'm sitting against right now. Sapphires are one of my faves.

I have wonderful feelings about blue in my fandoms. First to mind, much like green, is Science blue and Mr. Spock (You too Bones!). I have a Blue medical shirt. I think of Beverly Crusher and Dr. Polaski on Next Generation. I was still in college when that aired and it meant so much to see women doctors on a starship in their blues.

How about the dark blue-black of Nightcrawler's skin? I've always found him fascinating.

Oh the blue of the Amestrian military's uniform. I don't think I'll ever tire of thinking about Roy, Maes and Riza (though the uniform itself isn't that spiffy). Fullmetal Alchemist remains one of my favorite manga of all time and when you consider that I've been reading/watching manga/anime since the 70s that's saying something.

While I'm a dark eye fan two of my best characters as far as telling me fanfic goes, have the most beautiful blue eyes. Connor on Angel had lovely eyes. Average looking, no doubt but those eyes. And Malcolm Bright on Prodigal Son, holy hell those eyes. Tom Payne does so much with them too as Malcolm. His expressions convey emotional so well. See what I mean


I do plan on writing a blue story but not tonight. But here have some

We had the best yard when I was a kid. It was huge. And I just took it for granted. I thought everybody lived in a house and that all houses had big yards. (I'm now in a teensy apartment going stir crazy this year.)

Me too. I'm in a place (still an apt) that is rural with a yard but I've been in teensy apartments. One thing I know I'm not made for city life and I'm not part of the tiny house movement

My apartment is in the perfect neighborhood. I'm literally just around the corner from work. I can walk to a grocery store just a couple blocks away. There's an Irish pub across the street. Two different drug stores in walking distance. A movie theater a bit farther, but still walking distance in good weather. Plus several other restaurants, an ice cream shop, a candy shop, et cetera.

The rent went up (again) this year and I waffled a bit, because I think it's kind of unreasonable for such a tiny apartment. But I love the neighborhood and the cheaper rental listings that I saw were all much farther from work which means I'd have transit costs that would offset the rent savings.

So, I re-signed the lease and then COVID-19 hit. I don't actually regret re-signing because if I hadn't, I would have been scrambling to move into a new place right in the middle of the state's shut-down order which would have been stressful in its own right. But… all those reasons I had for loving the neighborhood are moot since I'm not going out any more than necessary.

That's very cool (well not being shut in because of covid of course). I'm literally 12 miles away from the nearest town. There's not much I can walk to. On the other hand I prefer it that way

What lovely pictures. And I do agree that Tom Payne has beautiful blue eyes, the first time I saw him on The Walking Dead I was like wow, especially the combination of blue eyes and dark hair.
