I had a great panic attack driving home after getting thru town and seeing nothing but Trump/Pence signs everywhere. In fact tons of them for 200 miles thru Ohio and WV depressing AF. Now maybe it's a bit too soon after picking a VP for the Biden signs but I know they wouldn't be here. We have people actually flying FLAGS made of cloth reading Trump/Pence. Last election I had a neighbor threaten to kill me if I voted Hillary. (he was arrested and gone before that happened).

I'm not alone in fearing for their mental health in the remains of this year and beyond if our current idiot wins again.

Wasn't home an hour before Dad yelled at me for sitting in the wrong place on the couch. Sigh.

Really glad I made this effort. I was happier not being around anyone and in Jackson I only drive in the commercial areas so I didn't know how horrible it all was but I had to cut thru residential to get where I'm going.

I know a lot of older faculty are retiring early to get out of the nightmare covid has made of the university system. Maybe I should start looking for a job in a better place.

Q: A fandom you’ve abandoned and why. Honestly I haven't really abandoned any fandom. Oh there are plenty I barely look at any more, mostly anime ones, but if the mood struck me I'd pick it up again.

It's worrisome for me as a Canadian if Trump gets in for a second term. I am also worried that we're starting to see some of the same sentiments up here in Canada (i.e. make Canada great again and racism.) I really hope that Biden & Harris win.

Do I want to know why your Dad yelled at you about where you were sitting on the couch?

(hugs)

I know. What gets me though is a lot of the generation that seems to be die-hard Trump supports were once part of a "woke" generation too. That said, I can't see why people are supporting him when he's done nothing to do what he promised to do such as draining the swamp or making the country "great" again. Sigh... I wish I could understand where this divide is coming from.

Yeah my dad was cranky with me this weekend and instead of just saying what he wanted, he snarled at me. Made me wonder why I do as much as I do when he can't even be civil.

I can't understand why people think Covid is a hoax.

Sigh... idiocy is as good an answer as any other, I guess. I tend to think of it as people being selfish as well.

Sorry about the panic attack. We have so many Trump/Pence signs here, too. Even those damned cloth flags. It sickens me, tbh. *fingers crossed* that sanity prevails in November.

Did your dad turn into Sheldon and has his own spot on the couch?

Oh man, I die a little inside every time I see a Trump sign or sticker. So yeah, a panic attack seems reasonable in a heavy red state. Finger's crossed we get through this election.

Good luck with work!
