A leisurely hike

I'm enjoying having my weird Thursdays off. I took this one off to go to Lake Alma. Even though I had found this place in 2018 (after HOW many years here?!?) I didn't go back last year. I had the lake almost to myself. Unfortunately the beach area was a bit too full of goose shit to enjoy it, I did find some tiny freshwater clams. I think this might be a nice place for students to do some research with proper permissions.

I had never walked out to the island before (well this is only my second time there). I walked the entire island (which maybe is a mile at most). The only challenge if I stayed on the lakeside part of it, was that at this time of year it was littered with acorns, walnuts, star gums and hickory nuts. This lake once (around 1900) was a spa area for the wealthy of Columbus and had an amusement park and casino. If I could have cut up and over in the rougher areas I might have seen more but I did spot a piece of foundation of something.

I know this area is haunted. see a ghost here at my friends’ site I can tell you the foundation side feels strong but the energy on the other side is low. I have pictures but I'll share them another day. I have someone challenging me to sprints and I'm writing!!!

This damn big bang is almost 94K now. What is wrong with me? Also when I said I wouldn't do Whumptober until other things were done, I totally lied. You can see it here

I'm trying to set up a hike for myself this weekend (I need partner to stay home to care for geriatric pet ward we have here). Glad to hear you've been able to sneak away and enjoy one yourself.

And I am not surprised you are at 94k, but I will slap you.

Good luck with that. Yeah those old ones need a bit of extra watching. It was very nice to get to go out.
