To my complete joy, my expensive Merill hiking boots (suggested to me by Dad) were perfect in the woods. They were comfortable. They kept me from sliding. When I was getting tired at the end of the second mile, and clipped a root I barely felt it. It protected me. YAY.

Speaking of complete joy, Kroger's had these 2 inch succulents on sale for a buck. I got a cute little one.

I need to share pictures of all these things.

Today was weird. On one of the Prodigal Son discords, I've been sprinting and talking to a couple other authors. And we know me, right? I swear. I f bombed something and like 2 hours later, these two start asking me anatomy questions as one is in A&P. then one goes I'm too young to take A&P. Danger Will Robinson! How OLD are you two? yeah they're like 15-17 y.o. I'm like head desk. Dearies, I'm your mother's age. Hell I could almost be your grandmother. (which really how did THAT happen?)

And I'm thrilled. My solarpunk story set in Wisconsin was just picked up for the Fix the World anthology. I wrote it for another anthology a few years back. So Jana gets another story out into the world. I really love these two (so watch no one be interested in them like they are in the two Cassadaga dudes who honestly never really excited me that much. I mean they're fun but I never expected THEM to be the couple people love. I'll never understand readers I guess.)

Have I mentioned Mom is absolutely avidly enabling my Lou Diamond Phillips crush? She's called me like three times in the last week to tell me something of Lou's was on TV

Congrats for the story going into this anthology, that's lovely! ***\O/***
And yay for just the right hiking shoes! I'll probably always remember the feeling when I got my first proper pair - my parents couldn't afford any special outdoor gear when I was a kid, so I was 19 when I got my first ones. It felt like walking was going by itself, without any effort on my part. *g* Still feel a bit that way, although today hiking boots feel rather restricting since they're the only non-barefoot-walking footwear I wear any longer.
