I no longer need Pinhead to teach me about pain

I know all about it now. The knee block has worn off and I AM IN PAIN. Narcotics aren't touching it but they are making me nauseous so bonus. I could barely get out of bed this morning. I can get up better now but I need help swinging my leg out of bed because there are stitches.

I'm not sure where they are. It feels like 360 degrees of them. I've not seen the surgeon or his residents which is odd even if it is the weekend. So I don't know everything they've done because if they spoke to me afterwards I was still out of it.

From what I've pieced together they arthroscopically repaired the anterior AND posterior cruciate ligaments (the PCL was a surprise), repaired the medial meniscus and openly grafted some kind of mesh on the lateral and posterior compartments.


I'm glad it wasn't a same day surgery. I need a little extra care today and probably tomorrow. I'm happy to be in the hospital which is exactly where I should be (hear that insurance companies)

Right? It's like OMFG how did you let this happen. I have multiple holes in this leg now. One's healing like a butthole in my thigh. Sweet.

I'm sorry the pain meds aren't working! I'm super glad you're being cared for in the hospital. Yes, the insurance company/ies should get their heads out of their asses and pay more attention to patient care than profits.
