Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing. Etc.
Okay not bothering to cut it because well it's too dang short. This is what comes of tailoring your icons to your RPG only. I used last names for the alphabetizing and didn't include VK because it made the count unequal. We already know he makes up a huge chunk as Connor

Dru/Giles - Um er? Okay someone needs to write that one
Spike/Keith Urban - Well...they have nothin in common but I'd want to be in that sandwich
