Did not sleep well. Had a night terror, woke mom up screaming, fun times. We both woke up again at 430 and said screw it for the half hour of sleep we'd get until the alarm. The clinic took me right in for the vascular testing. He was so thorough that after noticing a big difference between right and left arms the DMS tech threw in a carotid study to be sure I didn't have a left subclavian steal accounting for it (I don't).

The new girl in vascular took mom and I through the employee only catwalk to the cafeteria in the hospital (because trying to wheel my wheelchair across a very busy street seemed dumb) and we bought her a breakfast. It was lousy food but it was something to do since they finished both tests before 8 am and my next appt wasn't until 10.

THe orthopedic surgeon said I'm healing but it is going to be slow. Still not allowed to walk without a walker and he gave me a script for a wheelchair for out in public horrified that the skilled nursing fucked that up. I have a smaller brace now too but it's not very stable so I think I'll use the long brace for PT for a while. He wants me to stick with home PT since you get 100 visits vs 20 out patient ones so get me stronger here and then burn those. He wants me back in July.

He also made me late for vascular where I did NOT see the PA as planned. Doctor Epstein finished with his clinic visits and came himself even though they DO NOT see patients on Tuesday. They did this for ME so I didn't have to spend two days in a hotel. I'm grateful But he had an emergency and had to run. In fact I barely spoke to him. He wants to see me n Sept for more testing but right now the stent is holding and my blood flow is fine.

It was a long PAINFUL ride home. Sitting knee bent for 10 hours was way too long.

Glad to hear you appointments went pretty well, and that you don't ned to go back for a while. But OW, that drive back sounds horrible.

This sounds excruciating in so many different ways. Sending good energies and love.

I'm so glad...

I'm sorry you didn't sleep well and the trip home was awful, but I'm glad the appointments went well and the doctor was suitably horrified at the care you've been getting.

All in all a lot of these updates sound hopeful as far as recovering goes. Here's to more PT and gaining mobility each day. ♥

Glad you made it through the challenging day okay. Sorry, your recovery is going to be slow. That is hard.

Also, ouch for sitting in a car for 10 hours.
