Honestly the 70s is the perfect temperature to me and we were in the 70s all day and I loved it. It's going down to 50 tonight. I'm in heaven. Honestly if CA wasn't so expensive and on fire half the time I'd move to Eureka where the weather seems to go from 50-75 year round.

Today I went SHOPPING. Okay normally I don't get excited by that but other than going to Costco briefly I've not been shopping since January. I had no issues walking around (with my brace). We had brunch at IHOP (crepes + more healthy foods) went to Macy's and Famous Footwear.

For the record I LOATHE shoe shopping. I have very long and very narrow feet. I'm a misery to shop for. Yeah yeah wide footed people I know you do too but most shoes come in wide these days. Very few still come in narrows. I did get a pair of sandals in Macy's. Most of mine are thongs which let's be honest are just unwise to wear at this juncture for me so I found a pair that lash around the ankle and these Dolce Vita were freaking pricey (I mean they were still 60$ at half price). Here's hoping they're comfortable in the long run.

As for the athletic shoes I went to Famous Footwear and was SO disappointed and told them so. Since when did Nike buy you out? I am no fan of Nike as a podiatrist and as a user they break down so fast. They had one shelf of sketchers, one wall unit each for asisic and new balance. and puma/adidias shared one wall unit as did saucony and under armor. There were TWELVE wall units of Nike.

And I swear they stocked the cheapest saucony and new balance (two shoes approved by podiatrists). Wal Mart had better shoes. They did have those new podiatrist approved Sketchers but not in my size except one that looked like a grand mother crocheted them. Ugh. They had only 4 shoes in the entire story that came close enough to my size to try them and see if I wanted to order the shoes. two were crap and I ordered the other shoes while asking WHY do you only stock 5-7s? Yes that might be average sizes but shouldn't you try to keep a little of everything? I was disappointed as this store has been great and where i usually get shoes.

As for Macy's I used to love their clothes. In the last few years (years of decline for the store too) they have had the ugliest damn clothes. I did get a tan linen angel winged shirt and that was it. The rest were ugly, terrible fabric or branded. I do not want to walk around with Calvin or Champion on my chest.

re: Macy's - Don't you want to walk around covered head to toe in ugly prints and plastic "fabric"? And giant logos to advertise your brand loyalty? /sarcasm

I also hate clothes shopping.

70s is the perfect temp for me, too!!! Today might not even reach 70 (in the shade) and it's ~perfect out there. Of course, it started out at 47, so I wore a small scarf around my neck on my first walk. *g*

I'm glad you were able to get out and had no problem walking around, even if the shopping was disappointing.

I was interested to see the list of podiatrist approved sneakers, so thank you for that! (I do currently wear Sketchers, but didn't realize they were that good, even though I've found them comfortable for walking.)
