Another day in paradise

I couldn't get into the clinic portal to check on my upcoming nerve test. I was convinced it was 8 this morning so I get up early, cranky, barely have time to make it because I miscalculated when I needed to get up. I get halfway there and pull off to the side of the road. WAIT. I put it on a Wednesday because it will be in the way of me doing lab set up for the big bone test. Oh god I will never get my laundry done either because I'll be swamped.

Then I'm like that's next week dana. DO I go home? What? You're fully dressed are you going to take an hour nap like that? I go to work 2 hours early, call to be sure it is wednesday. It's NEXT wednesday (just like the damn test).

The day went okay until I left. Well it turns out they're giving my Toujeo insulin weirdly, one box of two pens (vs two boxes of four which is what they used to give me) and I forgot that and ran out so I had to go to Jackson to get some. So I decided to use that laundromat (I've been given new permission to use the one here) I put it in but am so late and so tired I just go sit in the library vs going to the Y like I usually do on MOnday.

It POURS. I have to go through a flood to get out of there. It's now 630 and the damn dryer DID NOT work. Fuck it I brought it all home wet to hang. Well over the weekend the new landlord had dug up the creek to make it flow better but did it wrong, there's not literally a third creek I have to forge this rain carved it out.

Getting into the apartment I fall INTO the house. I didn't hurt my knee (pulled some muscle though) and landed with my arm on the door jamb (which kept me from hitting ground) I have a huge hematoma on my arm, my neck and back hurt and by chance I have found this weird little pea sized thing rolling around under my skin on the elbow. Ganglion Cyst? Neuroma (It does burn when you touch it) I have no idea what it is.

And then there was a critter in my heating ducts again (every time it gets cold and wet).

I'm now on the couch afraid to move lest my house explode.

Yeah, adventuring in the rain is a bad idea. Too slippery and wet.

We've got heavy rain forecast for Halloween *sigh*

Same here. I canceled my halloween plans. It would have been too dangerous outside for me

I'm not going anywhere, just supposed to be putting goody bags out for the kids, but if it rains everything will get wet.

aw that's too bad. I was going ghost hunting and then hobbling thru an interesting cemetery I just found. Maybe next weekend

Well, better late than never!

It should. Last year wasn't great but I tried, and my rather meagre (compared to previous years) efforts were appreciated.

That's the good thing about ghosts, they can be relied on to keep haunting the same place.

I hope so. I can't go to my usual lengths because of having to social distance still, but I'll do what I can.

It cleared at noon! I managed to get the table and all the lights set up, had so many trick or treaters, and it didn't start raining again until about 7.45, just drizzling. Very windy though, my witch hat blew off. Made taking the lights and everything down a bit of a struggle, and everything's still a bit wet, but it ended up being a great Halloween. 😊

It was brilliant! So many happy kids and parents, one little non-verbal boy was just entranced by the lights. He didn't care about anything else.
