why I can't have nice things

So my washer and dryer get here today. The delivery boys take one look at the W/D closet and go how are we going to get them in there? I said I had a schematic with ALL the measurements. The sales person assured me they'd fit (Dad's an engineer so he drew out everything including where the washer hook ups were and the side vent for the dryer).
They get the washer in. Bring in the dryer...it's a BACK vent and not a side vent. There's no way to make it work. I say take it back. I SHOULD have said take it all back but I'm clinging to the hope that I can get a side vented dryer.
The person selling me the dryer isn't in until 1 pm. I decide not to wait for this and call up the nationals to complain (kinda wondering if I'll get freebies to appease me) It takes me three calls to find someone who can help (and to the bitch at the online service, bite me. I didn't call you to look up dryers on line. I could do that myself)
Finally the nice lady at Sears says almost ALL dryers can be made to be a side dryer with either a kit or be punched for it (please not a kit it might make it too fat to fit). She assures me I'll not be called for a second delivery. However since I'm in BFE it has to be done locally so she calls the store.
Dear Nice Lady at Sears when a customer is calling to complain about the local store do NOT hook us up in a three way without telling the complaintant. She's like I spoke to M at the store and I replied but I was told not to talk to M. I know who he is, he's kinda young and all.' Thank God I did NOT say, the delivery guys told me not to talk to M because he's an idiot. (which they did). M was on the line...he's not called me back (He was supposed to but hell, after disparaging him to the main office I don't blame him) Hopefully the manager who sold me the dryer will call at 1 or I'll call him. And hopefully they can side vent my dryer or someone's coming back here to get the washer too because what can I do with that? It's not like I can line dry here!

Date: 2005-09-10 05:23 pm (UTC)The rules are: the service person must never offer to do anything that you can't do for yourself, or hasn't already been done. They must leave you with the impression that they think YOU are the problem, and undermine any confidence in what you thought you did know. Anything they tell you must be in direct opposition to what you have already been told.
The nice ones are the worst because you are likely to let your guard down.
I don't think it would have hurt if you had said you'd been told 'M was an idiot.' He might have learned something about himself and/or the delivery people would learn not to make personal comments.

And the manager says that dryer CANT be adapted. Wanna watch me kill someone
