Two Doctors
Jan. 24th, 2022 09:29 pmI saw my GP this morning. She was worried about the weight gain but let the endocrinologist deal with it. She is going to check my iron and B12 levels which were both very low. I wasn't wrong about something being wrong with my nose. It wasn't bleeding for no reason. It's swollen and there is a wound. She's thinking it's a MRSA infection because a hard to kill bacteria is what you want in your head. She does want me to see a psychiatrist for the depression.
I made it to the gym but had to back down my exercise level because I took off those weeks. That's okay. I'm still doing it and that's what counts.
The endocrinologist's NP who I usually see loves to talk. Probably why she was an hour late by the time I got there. (I didn't know she had to do hospital rounds at 6 in the morning) SHe talked to me for an hour so long that everything was closed and I needed special instructions to escape the empty clinic.
She was also very concerned by the rapid weight gain (and she believed me about the I didn't start eating tons of junk). We're testing my blood for all sorts of shit. Yippee. I am going to try the free style libre continuous monitoring if my insurance pays for it. She and I also talked about noom and she said basically a) it works only if you're clueless as to your eating habits (I'm not) b) are eating badly (I'm not) c) BAD for diabetics because it pushes way too much fruit. Glad I didn't pay for it.
It rained all the way home because that's what we needed. 39 degrees and rain so tomorrow will be a skating rink.
I did talk to Frontier AGAIN. This time I got someone who was on the ball. They said wait what? Who told you you had to be there (Um you guys) No, it's an outage. They know where it is and they're fixing itl I don't have to be there. It's fixed now. Let's see how long that lasts.
