For once I got lucky

Since I don't need anesthesia for my surgery, just a local, I don't have to get up at O'dark thirty. My surgery is slated for 2 pm. Betting I won't get the fun marijuana anti nausea meds this time. I do plan to drive up early and get that free dessert at Applebee's even if i'm not looking forward to the food (I think just appetizers and soup this time)

The sense of smell is one of the strongest evokers of memory. I have to wash my hands in Hibcleans for the surgery tomorrow. It's the same stuff you wash with as a surgeon and it takes me right back to when I was operating and I want to BE there again so bad.


I also found something at work that is bothering me. I have to miss 2 hours of work for this surgery but we're no longer allow to ask off just for the hours we're going to be gone, we have to ask either 4 (half day) or 8 hours (full) so I am getting docked 4 hours pay for missing 2 hours. Imagine how happy I am about this.

It's raining so hard. Lost power earlier. Another good reason to be happy about the surgery time. It'll be icy if not snowing this morning.

Today is Lou Diamond Phillips birthday and sometimes I have to wonder about fans. Mixed in with all the happy birthdays is someone who had to add 'I still can't believe your wife left you for a woman.' And I'm like really? Well that is true but hell he's been with his current wife nearly 20 years so who brings up painful ancient history in a birthday wish?

I'm sorry you miss being a surgeon.

We also do the 4 or 8 hours only thing, but can unofficially make up time for <4 hours. That generally works pretty well for me, but it can be a bit of a balancing act.
