I'm really tickled by this date. I wish I could say something monumental and worthy of noting happened but it didn't.

I wasn't pleased with my finger today. It was white and macerated so I went back to gauze and coban because a bandage was keeping it too wet. It had bled a lot as well. Sigh. I'll be keeping and eye on it.

It rained like mad today and it was raining inside my lab so there's that.

Me today to another faculty member taking stuff off the copy machine "Check it close so you don't make off with my color the penis pictures."


Can I talk editing for a moment? With my indie publishers each book/novella received 3 edits. I have read/am reading books where I swear there isn't any editing. I'm not talking misplaced commas or a wrong word. I'm talking huge issues. I'm reading one now where the dog's sex changed 3 times in 5 pages. Another had a character pretending to be a dead starship cadet (she's a shape shifter) where he died on ship and never once is it mentioned where his body went. Did it obiwan kenobi fade away? This thing won a major award. I don't get it.

I offered to beta a fanfic for the first time in forever, and tl;dr she was getting snippy that I needed a week per chapter and I'm like I could get PAID to do this and stop wasting my time here (she apologized). But now it seems no one is getting paid to edit *crylaughing*

yeah about the only time I care about a time frame is if I'm on a deadline. If a beta reader is doing this for free just STFU unless it's something truly heinous.

But yeah I can't imagine big publishing companies putting out errors like this but here we are

Yeah, and if you had a deadline, you'd have put that in your ask and not starting getting more impatient with each chapter. *rolls eyes* Kids these days.

Pretty much. I do have it on my short stories and I usually say that when I ask. I hate short cycle anthology open calls

The lack of editing bugs me too. I know from my own job that it's often just not considered important any more, and it drives me batty.

It really makes no sense. I would feel like an idiot of a published novel of mine was out there with a character's sex flipflopping. There was one a friend read where in book one the character was blind but book two they were deaf
