My friend and chair of the department remembered that Sunday is a year since I fell and wants to take me out tomorrow to celebrate my recovery. Yeah I have to drive 40 miles but when don't I around here?

I also had an interesting talk with a student today, who said I might be more conservative than you but I think we can talk and he proceeds to tell me about the ultra conservative ultra religious upbringing he had (and now I have a name for the group I saw around town who always have on denim skirts and hair in buns, the Holies. (yikes)) and was talking about how seclusion was bad and how world shattering it was to see there is such a big world out there and how much we have to learn by talking to each other even if we can agree. It was more wisdom than I expected.

Hey speaking of doing good works in the world, is there a way to check on the bids on fandom trumps hate? I swear there used to be. I would like to know if there are bids on me and on others but I don't see a way to check.

the Holies are weird to me. No TV, no music (other than gospel) no reading (other than scripture/religious books) I wouldn't do well with them
