No, really. I'm in a dangerous mood right now...well for other people. Don't poke me tonight in other words. Why? Oh just listen

1. My students FAILED an open book exam. One question was 100% right from the book and I GAVE them the answers. All they had to do was copy.

2. Lowes will sell me a side vented dryer but their delivery people can't do it. I have to hire an appliance repair guy to do it...okay fine. It adds 200$ to the cost. I nearly fainted so I go all around my complex because I know I'm the ONLY one without a W/D. My manager has hers back vented and turned sideways and can't open the dryer door all the way. (this is the handyman...) Sob. One of the girls has a MUCH bigger area because she has 70's monster equipment in there (it's harvest gold...) and it came used and sidevented. I called my landlord and told him the situation. Can I please remove the door so I can get it in there with a back vent. He says he'll come side vent it for me. ANyone else forsee doom?

3. Sears...so I call them up because they're charging me a restocking fee and not waiving the delivery fee even though this foul up was their mistake. The person never recorded my call about complaining about the restocking fee. The next girl says well I emailed R about this and he last touched your case. Call him on Monday and have him and store work it out. I do and find out you can NOT call a certain person. They have no extensions. So I ask why did M tell me this. S says he doesn't know but he'll call the supervisor and have them call me back. THey didn't. I'm calling again tomorrow and telling them the Better Business Bureau is about to hear about it.

4. Verizon hit me with a 200$ phone bill. Part of it is for Internet service I don't have. (60$ worth), part of it is for call forwarding which I don't have, part of it is calls that are .35 cents a minute. WTF? They were of course closed when I called.

Okay I get it karma. I apologize for being a serial killer last life. You can stop this now. I think I'm a decent person. This kind of luck...it's like a giant cosmic screwing.

Ah, damn. I won't even begin to try to make you feel better because right now, the best thing to do is:

1. Scream

2. Drink

Repeat as often as needed.

I just got a bunch of Canadian chocolate today from my mom.

Alas, not Canadian alcohol, though.

I suppose it's just special to me and my family. My mom's Canadian, and we would go up to Canada every year to visit my grandparents and eat candy we couldn't get here in the States. Their chocolate does have a different quality to it that's different from Hershey's.

Chocolate can be very different which is why I asked.

The Canadian stuff had a more Cadbury flavor to it than Hershey's.

diabetic, nothing with sugar really, no candy, no bread, pasta, rice, potato, alcohol, ice cream etc

some cheating allowed but my sugar won't come under control so I'm trying not to cheat

**Hugs**

I can't believe that your students failed the open book exam. That's just sad.

The part about the call center at Sears, yeah I can relate. Sometimes people (aka the managers) don't want to do their freaking job which means more crap on the operators. And I am used to working with operators who talk out of their ass and advise customers/clients totally false stuff.
I am sorry that you had to deal with that.

Date: 2005-09-20 02:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Yeah I'm sure you have the complaints from the other end of the customer service

and no kidding, the class average on an openbook test was 72%, two points from failing.

Yeah but I hate it when people who work at the customer end of it advise clients false info (like the call back tomorrow and you can speak to so and so. That's just the rep not wanting to deal with your call. Sometimes, most of the time, it's accurate and true, but a lot of the time, it's the CSR not wanting to deal with their job).

That's a bad average. I could understand if it wasn't open book. Was it open text book or open notebook by the way?

Date: 2005-09-20 03:07 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
open notebook. Lab is it's own separate thing. There was no excuse since hte labs are typed by me like a book.

I hear you about CSR lying. I've seen it. It sucks. That's why I take names

Oh, geez. This sucks all the way around. So sorry that the incompetence of others crapped all over you. *sigh*

thanks...i don't know how to feel about an open book test generating a 72% average...

That's freaking pathetic. They need to pull their heads out, is my diagnosis. Will this be a wake-up call, do you think?

I don't think you were just one serial killer in a former life to be granted this kind of "luck" - I think you were ALL of them.

Seriously, how can you fail an open book test like that? AIGH!

class average 72%. god.

Yeah I was seriously evil apparently. I'm surprised hell let me come back.

I'm sorry about your students. I have to wonder what they were thinking.

As far as everything else, I've decided that corporate America is more and more incompetent. Maybe people are getting stupider? It would explain the open book test.
