After a more or less decent day of work (where yet another ghostie broke off those insanely expensive Lemax village pieces, are you even kidding me with this?) I came home late because work is well so much work and I got no typing done yet (I'm 95% sure I'm flipping projects and back burnering this one which disappoints me terribly)

I made a roast chicken and baked zucchini, nice gravy and carrying it to my dinner spot I dropped it on the carpet. Sigh.

So tell me something good. What's making you excited/happy right now.

“At least I have my own room,” Dani said into her computer. Zahra peered over her huge Lucifer fandom mug at her. Pictures of her two kids looked over her shoulder from the office wall. “I’ve been here an hour and I am already ready to leave.”

“Isn’t Heartland Manor one of the nursing homes you used to work in back in the day?” Zahra asked.

“Yes, it was the best off the list they gave me at the hospital. There were some real hell nos on the list and according to Medicare’s list of star ratings Heartland was given five stars but it sure as hell wasn’t for this bed. It’s a misery. I’ve already asked for an air mattress. If I’m going to be stuck in bed for at least two months, I’m not going to get bed sores on my ass because the bed is brutal.”

“And you know those aides aren’t coming to help move you.”

Dani snorted. The one thing everyone knew was nursing homes were woefully understaffed and the aides could make more working at Wal-Mart or Amazon. “Even if they did, I can’t actually be moved. You can’t roll me on my side with this damn fixator.”

“As many fixators as you’ve put in feet, never did you think you’d end up in one.”

The full moon looked incredible tonight on my drive home from work. If I'm able to get out of bed and dressed early enough tomorrow morning, I might see if I can see the eclipse. (I'm planning on being out to vote when polls open at 6, so it's not outside the realm of possiblity).

And I managed to get some words down for NaNo that I'm not entirely displeased with.

Missed the eclipse. Either I was too late and it was too low or there was just too much cloud cover when I went out.

I also missed your snippet when I read through this earlier. I like the setup - private room and she has an uncomfortable mattress which is going to wreak havoc on her sleeping and either will call attention to things that go bump in the night or the lack of sleep will help to create things that go bump in the night. I'm not sure your intent was to create an unreliable narrator, but you definitely could have some fun if you go that route.

As for what's making me excited... There's a job opening at my library where I volunteer which I'm going to apply for. Looking forward to the holidays! And very looking forward to January after which I'll have my baby and I will never be pregnant again.

Yeah, they're awesome, but they do break easily. We have a few Christmas houses but one we got from my inlaws was broken right in the box. I hope the others survived the year in our storage...

Yes, my third and final baby. Really looking forward to having our family complete and moving on from this phase of life. We spend years debating if we'd have 2 or 3 kids and I was so emotional about it, so glad that's over and we can just live our life...

I'm (very slowly) watching Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. A few days ago I finished the first season. Also watching Spy x Family as quickly as I can via Crunchyroll!

I have a love/huh affair with DS9. It has some of my favorite ST characters of all time but toward the end it was more of a war story than I liked.

I've been hearing good things about Spy x Family my library is getting the manga soon

The manga is quite like the anime, so if you read the manga, you're getting pretty much the same experience! (minus the animation factor/voice actors)
