writerly ways delayed
Dec. 4th, 2022 10:25 pmI have writing I want to do and it's 1030 at night and I've yet to actually do it because I spent this day making tests, printing tests and grading other tests. I DO have planned topic even. I will try to do that tomorrow.
I did have some good news. I won a bundle of books
Also I'm in a bit of a foul mood thanks to the Proud Boys in Columbus OH and my state's entire reaction to armed men threatening citizens with assault weapons to keep them from a drag show is to do nothing, no arrests for domestic terrorism. Nothing. If anyone but white men showed up to 'protest' armed to the teeth we'd be shot in the street by the police. This is truly terrifying if I'm honest.
So have my tea reviews which are totally inappropriate after that but there you go
Day Three Adagio - Cranberry Nut Muffin green tea. How this one was depends on if you wanted to taste cranberry. I didn't so I really liked it. There is really no hint of tart cranberry. It did have that spicy nut muffin vibe and I thought it was pretty tasty
Yawn Brew - Santa's milk and cookies. I was excited for this one because it had sumac berries, cornflower, safflower and red plum petals in it (Black tea) cornflower is common but the other two I've not had before. I know sumac has a lemon taste and was used by the Indigenous people as a tea forever. This didn't have a lemony taste surprisingly. Not surprising was the floral notes. It was very good.
Day 4 of tea
Adagio sent chocolate chai pu-erh which is an odd choice. pu-erhs are fermented and they get funky. I have had other companies pu-erhs and they are better than Adagio's usual. However this one was actually good, none of thank fishy funk their pu-erhs often have. The chai mellowed it out and I liked this
Yawn Brew - Sweet ginger which was a rooibos. I don't like red tea at all. For one it's a tisane not tea and I don't care for the aftertaste. That said somehow they managed to get rid of that. I know this has blackberry leaves in it (something I usually don't like either). Somehow the blend really worked. It was sweet but it is not gingery and THAT is a hard taste to mess up but they managed it.

Date: 2022-12-05 04:24 am (UTC)Congrats on the books.
Sorry about what is happening in your state. I don't understand how having assault weapons at a protest is allowed it seems like a good recipe for someone to get violent.

I know. Like I said, it's their whiteness that matters here. We all know what would happen if men of color tried this nonsense.
I too am getting interested in the teas!

Date: 2022-12-05 04:29 pm (UTC)How proud they must be that they're too cowardly to protest unarmed
