Today I didn't accomplish much other than laundry and dragged out my Christmas stuff and got angry. Please tell me why I put an EMPTY plastic storage bin out in the unit? It's now covered with rodent shit like everything else (the hole is still there)

I missed a box. What i did get had some of my stuff but I'm missing one of the light strands. But worse one of the plastic storage bins had an slight damage to the lid and that tiny opening was enough for mice to get in, ruin everything that wasn't glass and the glass is still sitting outside til tomorrow until I can get out there with sanitizer. I have to replace the wreath and garland.

I am so busy futzing with this I'm late to dinner with my friends to go on the tour: L and TH. We did however have a very good time. This was the first heritage tour and the third week of it. Every thursday in December you can go from 5-8 for free to the railroad museum (new this year), the John Gee historical Black methodist church, the french art colony, our home tavern museum and the fossil display at the library.

Well TH and I have seen the fossils and all three of us have been in french art colony multiple times we took them off the list. We went to the Black church and got goodie bags (turns out everywhere else was out of them, figures. Not that many takers to see Black history. sigh). I insisted on this one because I've never been there and I wanted to for years. It was fascinating because it had pieces of the segregated school (intergrated in 1952), an actual Black Civil war uniform and so much knowledge that i need to follow up with including Slave medicine (That needs worked into a talk) and that there were QUILT patches to be sign posts for the conductors of the Underground railroad. I have never heard of this before. I am fascinated. I need to know more.

From there we went to the Railroad museum. Both L and TH love trains. I'm less excited by them but that said I have been to many museums. This one is very small and mostly a few items on display and one big toy train. That said I'm happy to have seen it.

The lights were...exactly the same as last year. Why I was expecting different I don't know. It's still a small town display but it is quite beautiful and well attended.

From there we decided we had time to go to Our Home tavern museum and I need to go back here too. OMG there was one of General Lafeyette's jackets in there. It was in bad shape but the workmanship was beautiful. The docent told a story of Chief Nonhelema. She was the sister of Cornstalk (who cursed Point Pleasant) and a 6'6" she had to have been something as a warrior. I wish more of her story was known.

We ran into the people who run our winery and they bought one of the big houses in old town on the river, a house I had looked at it (out of my range). I hope it's gorgeous for them. And turns out TH was right (not that I doubted him. he love history) Gallipolis is one of the oldest towns in Ohio, 1790. I'm not sure why I was surprised as Point Pleasant was surveyed by Washington. Maybe it makes me like the town more but I still feel uncomfortable there, like the memory of the battles lingers in the land (and Our Home tavern was definitely haunted)

Day 15 of tea

Adagio - White Tangerine. This was very lightly citrus flavored (it was white tea, orange and mandarin flavoring) so overall a little dull

Yawn Brew - Peachy. This was an herbal with apple and peach pieces and the all too often present herbal buddies of rose hips chamomile and hibiscus. It had a vague peach scent but honest it was not my thing.
