And before I forget again (which is ironic since I'm lecturing on memory today), Illyria's tentacles, canon or fanon? And if it's canon, anyone remember the eppy so I can look it up. I need it for one of my charity stories. THANKS!

I don't remember any canon tentacles, but maybe I'm blocking it out because I'm disturbed by tentacle-fic.

I just searched buffyworld.com for the word "tentacle". It appears to be fanon. This is a description of her, from the "Shells" transcript:

Later, Wesley puts a book on the table, opened to a page with a drawing of a temple with a statue inside. The statue is enormous, as tall as the temple's ceiling. It has four arms, and its body is composed of snake-like creatures coiled around a torso, having dozens of snake-tails where feet should be. The statue is holding two bladed weapons. In the background, thousands of dots fill the temple floor.

I thought the picture Wes has showed tentacle like things, but I might be confusing it with the aforemenioned snake things, I think the picture was so blink and you'll miss it, that you can get away with her having tentacles in her true form if you so wishes, then there's artistic liscence on the part of whoever drew and, the fact, they can't possibly have ever seen Illyria.

Illyria's original Old One body had tentacles. Looked kind of like a giant squid with sword-like tentacles, IIRC. I think the picture is in "A Hole In The World."

I just checked the picture, and the swords aren't part of the tentacles. (As to whether they're tentacles or tails--they're long sinuous appendages, and the detail is fuzzy enough that you could probably call 'em either one and get away with it.)
