I'm back in PA for the weekend to see mom and dad and my brother and sister in law. My brother is threatening me to get my Mothman t-shirt (I wore it to taunt him). He'll have to wait for Christmas to get his.

Went to the Bob Evans Farm festival before I came home. For those who don't know my college abuts the original Bob Evans Farm. It's a country festival with a lot of crafts. I do mean a lot but sadly 90% of which are country styled and none of my friends do country. I did get mom a fantastical wire beast for Christmas (it's a lawn ornament), a snow man for my sister in law and for me, an old board painted up as a ghost complete with chain. Got some locally grown apples and ate maple sugar cotton candy (to die for).  Ate bean soup cooked in out door cauldrons, saw the original Bob Evans farm (totally gutted as a museum for his history, blech, and a little history of the Welsh miners (found out my area was called the land of bones because it's so piss poor) and a tiny Underground Railroad museum (this area was active for the railroad). Got to see border collies herding mallard ducks (yes [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog I took pictures, hope they come out) because the sheep herding didn't go well earlier in the day. A sheep freaked, jumped the fence and ran loose in the crafting booths. I would have paid money for that. And after saying I needed no soap, I ended up buying blocks of hand made cauldron born soap. (patchouli-hemp, patchouli-rose and frankinscene and myrrh).

And since I missed beta appreciation day so let me say a big thank you, especially to [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog who gets stuck with all my stories, and to the rest of you [livejournal.com profile] marenfic ,

[livejournal.com profile] bashipforever ,[livejournal.com profile] a2zmom ,[livejournal.com profile] jadedcynic , [livejournal.com profile] married_n_mich  and anyone I might have forgotten (sorry, Mom's rushing me)

Later tonight I'll scan in some of the pics of mom and dad's trip including Mom giving Quark Oomlots at Quark's Bar.

You end up in the strangest places...

I've been to Quark's Bar. Worth it just for the corny menu items. :)

Mom likes Quark's.

It was easy to find this festival since it was on college grounds

As I said before, beating your stuff is a pleasue.

If all goes well, I'll be going to the Morris county craft show next weekend - it's a juried show so very high quality merchadise (mostly out of my price range). I'm hoping to replace my current hand made pocketbook with a new one.

yeah the juried stuff is usually far more than I can pay but I have some friends back in FL that had work in juried art shows. Fun stuff, couldn't afford a damn thing.

Either next weekend or the first weekend in Nov is a juried art show in my area.
