Ever since Deadwood started on HBO people have been after me to post pictures of my time in Deadwood. I couldn't find the big album with pics of me in it however I did find the ones of my first time there where I concentrated on the architecture. I'll only include those that would fit the time period of the show.
In that same strip there's the Original No 10 Saloon where Wild Bill bought it.
In contrast here's the NEW No. 10 Saloon where the chair he died in hangs from the walls. Its a bigger bar, more tourists can be fit in. While I was there in 94-95 there was this delightful 102 year old woman who'd make her own dancing dresses, paint herself up like a 2$ whore and dance with every young boy she found. I want to be here when I'm 102.
I believe this is Miss Kitty's Saloon.
The Green Door was an infamous brothel. if I'm remembering right Madame Doris DuFran owned it.
One of the Chinese run establishments. They had a huge underground (literally). I'd like to go back and see if they've finished the archeological dig with these tunnels.
And the famous Bullock Hotel. Seth Bullock was the sheriff in these parts. The hotel is haunted. Yes I've stayed there.
And this is about 55 miles away in what's now Custer SD, Harney Peak, sacred to the Lakota, highest point between the Rockies and The Alps. Yes that is me (10 years ago now, good lord) at the top.
