The thing about teaching here so long

Is that no matter what hospital/clinic I go to in 100 mile radius there's a 50/50 chance I trained that nurse/imaging tech/resp therapist. Today was no exception. My ultrasound tech was a former student who told me I should be proud of myself because I'm helping people into jobs they love. that was very nice. My lab report is already up and the stent in my leg is fine and I have no signs of peripheral artery disease from the diabetes either. So that's good. I see the vascular surgeon monday after next.

I got to TJ Maxx and resisted the Halloween stuff. I failed to do so at Bath and Body works. Hello Vampire Blood body lotion and moonlight grave hand soap.


I'm sad that I didn't go to Cleveland with my graduating class but we're voting on our contract on friday. I have to be there. I'm still sad.

Someone had better be thankful I'm nice after that mauling he gave me. Out of a 70 dollar Kroger's bill, 40 of it was his.


What I Just Finished Reading:

The Diabolical Miss Hyde - I really wanted to like this steampunk retelling more than I did

What Stalks Among Us - YA horror, I enjoyed it very much with a few exceptions


What I am Currently Reading:

The Reformatory by Tananarive Due this is hard because it's set against the real history of the Dozier school which is a thing of nightmares. Due lost a great uncle there.

X-Wing Wraith Squadron - like the other X-wing books it's a snooze so far (but it gives me an X for my challenge)

Bittersweet in the Hollow - it's good so far, very Appalachian in feel. I could learn a thing or two about the voice of the place I've lived the last nearly 20 years...
