Time goes too fast
Aug. 26th, 2023 11:49 pmI swear this day was over in a blink. Some of it was spent at the coffee house (where my students abounded) and I started my story for
fandomgiftbasket now that we're at two weeks to go and nearly half the baskets are empty. Mine has one (if someone wants to write me a little something) Plenty of the empty baskets are things I know yinz like (can't promise it's your pairings) like various Star Treks, 9-1-1, harry Potter etc.
My story (my third) has like almost none of the requested characters in it yet. Go me.
I had one of my sudden and total exhausting spells. I failed to go to the gym as a result. I did make it to the library and picked up a crap ton of horror graphic novels.
Did I mention Sarah Andersen of Sarah's Scribbles will be at the Mothman festival?
With my new recliner I cannot put the clothes drying rack where I used to. I don't like where it is now.
Did I mention my bunny slippers for my cosplay are too small? Yeah.
Today I got the spiky wig for the cosplay....and it's spike less. OMFG this cosplay! I wonder if Huntington has its Spirit Halloween up and running yet? If not then it's me looking at YouTube to learn to spike a cheap acrylic wig.
I have a question for you all. What are you doing to upcycle your REALLY old clothes. I mean stuff way too bad for donation. I have ancient t-shirts I use to clean but now they're too tight/torn etc. Before I toss them into a landfill, does anyone have things they like to do with old cloth like this? I'm curious. Probably will be googling this too but I have such creative people on my lists I figured it's worth the ask.
Another little piece of my childhood is gone. Bob Barker passed away at nearly 100. I used to sit with my dad's mom (who has been gone like 25 years now) and we'd watch The Price is Right all summer long. I suspect he was probably awful with the sexual harrassment but was at least good for animal causes. It's like the final closing of the door on that time of my life.

Date: 2023-08-28 03:53 am (UTC)I hear ya about Bob Barker, I would watch him with my maternal grandmother. We would always try to guess the prices together.
I didn't know what anything cost so I did horribly. It does feel like the end of an era.
