trolling for betas

So evil_little_dog doesn't kill me when I send her all 200+ pages of those hand written stories, I'd probably better find some more beta's.  Here's what will be typed in the next few days should I have any volunteers

1. the next chapter of Hyperion's Son (okay evil_little_dog  gets that whether or not she wants it)

2. the next story in the Fifth Sun series, my first attempt at a totally Spike centered story in a LONG time (a2zmom this was the next story in the series like you requested so if you want a sneak peek to be sure it's what you want for a charity story, feel free) It's sort of Spike/Illyria in a not so pretty way

3. the twisting canon story where Spike is the insane seer and Dru's a suffragette

4. An Angelus/Darla story set in 1753

5. the next chapter in the charity story I'm doing for southernbangel . It'll be eventually B/A (need to go look at who beta'ed the original chapter)

I'm sure there's one I'm missing. Well that should keep you busy at any rate

okay thanks. Putting the finish on it, then I'll print it out to get the clunkiness out and remove any really embarrassing typos first.

I do this kind of analysis thing for some of the people I beta. I don't comment exactly, but just note adverbs, point out phrases and words that I think particularly evoke the senses and which ones, explain if I think I'm seeing foreshadowing or explicit promise - all those things I've been making my challenges about.

Sometimes I point out something that I think works or doesn't. but mostly I list of what I'm think I'm seeing based on what I've read in my writing books. It is something I started doing for my own benefit(published books as well as fanfiction).

Some authors like having me do it because it tells them pretty explicitly what I'm getting from the story, others just find it distracting or intimidating.

Every time I do one it is different - a lot depends on the author and what I happen to be struggling with myself at the time. 8D

Let me know if you are interested. I'll just do a straightforward beta if that is more helpful.
