It's been no one's best day

I got a call from the OB/GYN, a call I've been expecting I saw on the ultrasound the endometrium is thickened and basically have been spotting/bleeding off and on since. I have to go to the clinic next week to schedule a time for a biopsy and last we talked a D&C and maybe an IUD placement to stop this nonsense (I need to ask her why that vs hysterectomy because I'm down with the latter).

Am I really afraid I have uterine cancer. No, actually I am not. And I've made the choice not to worry about that until I know one way or the other. I refuse to be afraid.


I called the vet (as we don't have an emergency vet) and they said bring him by for antibiotics today. I said I work til 4. They're there til 530. Good because I'm worried. He didn't come back for dinner last night or breakfast this morning. I found him in the rosebush on the way to the car. I'm like are you dead? He meowed so okay fine. I came got him and get there to see a new vet tech I don't know and the older bitchy one who takes one look at me and said 'what is THIS now?' Okay excuse me? She's furious that I'm there without an appointment. 'We don't do that."

The young one realizes she might have messed up in telling me to come said 'oh we were supposed to call back with an appointment.'

I'm thinking DO NOT LOSE YOUR TEMPER DANA. 'No, you spoke to ME. You said to come for antibiotics.'

Bitchy face said probably an antibiotic shot.

Yeah that's what I expected. So long story short, they did and then they wanted to give him vaccines. I'm like no, he's FIV positive will he make antibiotics (for 300$) I said okay to rabies as he DID mix it up wiht a skunk and I have no idea what happened to his tail (fearful I'm the one who did it. He sometimes sleeps in the task chair where I can't possibly see him) but it was healing and then stopped. They





Sadly my It Came From the Trailer Park story was rejected with an invite to write for them again and how they got 70 + stories for 8 places...and then suggested all these writing workshops (free) one of which is by orson scott card which is NOT a selling p oint. Still they have several I want to enter so...

(it felt like a general advice vs targeted at me because telling me to read in the genre is...okay it's about all I read outside of mysteries)

Sorry to hear about further health issues for you and the kittie! Hope all are resolved quickly for both of you. Also life is too short for bitchy health techs whether vets/people based. Grrr!

Believe it or not, we sometimes get a bitchy vet tech, too. Luckily, I have the vet's personal phone number. SHE treats us as professional equals, and we respect her knowledge. But as an employer I know how hard it is to monitor staff attitudes.

There's always one. Yeah she might be a very good employee but her people skills...(I HAVE seen yelp type reviews complaining about the vet techs. I wouldn't do that but at least I know I'm not the only one)

Bodies are stupid, part a billionty, it seems. As you know, I've been going through something similar, re: ultrasounds, scans, etc. In my case, it seems to be fibroids and cysts. I hope that it turns out to be one of the many other things that can cause endometrial thickening. Also, I'm with you, re: taking it all out. If it's going to be an ongoing thing, like you, I'd just as soon have it done and over with.

Yes they are. And yeah like you I've had fibroids. I have PCOS and a lot of that is probably what's going on now. Not my first D&C either. sigh.

Sorry that you're going through that. Definitely ask about the hysterectomy and, if you're good with getting one, push for it; it'll be less of a headache in the long run.

Hope things will turn around for both you and your cat soon.

Thanks. It wont' be a push. She's wanted me to have a hysterectomy for years. I've had too many OTHER health things to fix before that.

Poor Rocket. At least they still helped you. A poor attitude can really make a stressful weekend worse.

I hope everything comes out ok with the tests! I had to have a hysterectomy and wish I didn't, but that was when I was 42 and forced into full blown menopause when I wasn't even in perimenopause yet.

Awww poor kitty. I hope he's feeling better!
