What a Day

Okay so somehow yesterday I decided calling back a number I don't recognize would be a good idea but there was no answer. Today they called me back again and it's the frakking Health Department. They don't know WHY they called me yesterday? Dudes, am I dying? What the frak was I exposed to? No one knows. Maybe it was a mistake. Well it's not even 9 AM and my day's off to a rollicking start.

Today was mid terms day....and 15 minutes into test 1 and my phone rings. Now it's the OB/GYN figuring that can't be good, I step out to take it. Turns out it was just the automated thing telling me about my appointment. A student strolls past me late for the exam. I go back in, a student leaves then waves me outside about 10 minutes later to tell me another student was cheating and was also upset that some other students were sharing mocking videos of another student on snapchat. SIGH. Now I have to deal with this shit.

The cheater had already hidden the cheat sheet and I can't exactly strip search these guys so I did report it and since she failed anyhow, we decided why bother pursuing it (because nursing is a tight knit group, only about 50 of them taking the exact same classes for 2 years and that student would have to come forward with what they saw). I did contact the dean of students about the online bullying. Haven't heard back yet. Double sigh.

Then I have another problem child who was supposed to be gone for the test today because her team was traveling. I see her in the lobby laughing and goofing around. She sees me and panics (as well she should because she probably told the coach I wouldn't let her miss the exam) she gives me a lame excuse as to why she didn't take this test or the one last week. Uh huh, fine, you'll need to schedule it by the end of next week (and I'm telling your coach, enjoy)

And then the online software via McGraw Hill stopped working. We don't know why. So everyone is chasing that down. Can I retire now?

I'm sorry that sounds like a whole lot yuck. You would think by the time they get to college they would be mature enough not to cyberbully others?!?!

I read the Moth Keeper and thought it was a really good graphic novel. Loved the drawings and the message it was trying to convey.

Sounds like a rough day. Its sad to think people going into healthcare think it's okay to cyberbully someone. You would think they would have a little more empathy.

The student who lied to you about not being able to take the test must be frustrating. Its a shame you can't give her a zero for that.

It's Kalim from Twisted-Wonderland, a Disney mobile game where most of the main cast is composed by pretty boys based on Disney villains! The setting is a magic school, where each dorm is based on a movie. Kalim is actually one of the few exceptions, he's based on the sultan from Aladdin, while his dorm-mate, Jamil (my favorite character!) is based on Jafar

Oh wow every part of that sounds like amazing fun. Jamil and kalim look great (he reminds me a little of Agni from Black Butler)

You are kind of spot on, designs and storyline for Twisted-Wonderland are by Yana Toboso! There's a bit of a funny story behind it, as she was contacted by Disney for what she assumed where only designs, and was over the moon because of it (she's a huge Disney fan) and came up with plenty of background details and story that she thought wouldn't matter, only to find out as she was presenting her work to the company that they wanted her to be in charge of the story as well.

I am addicted to the Netflix show "The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself", which is based on Half Bad. It's only got one season and is only 8 episodes, but I've watched it straight through 3 or 4 times. I have heard that a lot was changed for the show from the books, so I probably won't read the books since I like the show so much. Some of the fic pulls from both sources, though.

Oh cool. Honestly the book could be better. It's not bad but it is rather...cliche and slow in spots. I haven't heard of that netflix show
