I honestly think I am some kind of natural chaos generator

So, I go to clean up my Spike/Illyria story only to find out that the spellcheck didn't save...well it DID save. How do I know? I saved it then converted it to RTF so I could take it to work and print it. The printed out version I edited was perfect spelling wise. I open up the file...and suddenly it's reverted to the old pre-spellcheck version. How is this even possible?

Then I go to type in what I have of my project paranormal story...and the handwritten hard copy is missing off the to-type in pile that I've been winnowing down this week. I could scream. Loudly. I know it couldn't have left this apartment but I'll be damned if I can find it.

At least the S/I story and the W/R story got typed in. I don't want to start retyping the page of Hyperion's Son and/or the charity story for southernbangel since I know I had it mostly done and it should be on the dvd of data saved from my hard drive...only I can't get into the files. I'll have to call my friend and have him walk me through it.
