The early morning question was

do I care if the tornado gets me? The answer was no. My face pain woke me at 3 AM and I didn't want to take more gabapentin and while I was debating that and wondering if my power was going to stay on in the storm (it flickered four times at that hour but hung in there) my phone screamed at me to get in the basement or an interior room.

I debated the tub but that floor is the weakest in the place. My 'basement is a mud filled hole under this place where I'd surely drown (and something was moving in there as my phone was screaming) It didn't even occur to me I could drag my recliner like five feet into the interior hallway and sleep there until I was at work today (quick witted, that's me)

I said screw it and went back to bed. The phone went off again at 430 AM just as I was almost drifting back to sleep in spite of the pain. (The tornados were now in the county I work in just 5 miles away).

I had to put more gabapentin into my system. Was in pain all day today until tonight. I'm very sure my coughing is GERD/Hiatal hernia driven as it crops up after I eat. I was hoping to hold off until this summer but I'm calling tomorrow. Calling Aspen dental tomorrow too because I think this all needs looking into with this nerve pain) Anyhow the coughing made my face not hurt (so yes I'm thinking TMJ is factoring into this). I think I'll try the muscle relaxer tonight.

I did promise you a fannish 50 today so let me tell you about Surreal Estate. I think I'm so taken with this show because on non-streaming TV there isn't much in the way of paranormal storytelling right now. It's a simple idea, the Roman agency cleans haunted houses and sells them. I like the characters well enough and honestly I thought the last season might have been the last because it broke up the agency sending almost all the characters off to other pursuits and Luke Roman losing his ability to speak to ghosts.

However a few weeks I started getting recordings on my list (as I had Surreal Estate on record all for the DVR) and it was really a masterclass on marketing. I'll give it to SyFy for that. They teased it with tiny trailers, that progressively got longer and then behind the scenes stuff and actor insights. It's on today. I'm excited for it.


And for the community recs for the thursday rec session have wipbigbang which was supposed to open two days ago but it's mostly a one person show (i think) so things do get behind. I love this one because you're not writing for anyone. It's you writing for YOU. You getting your older stories and making them a priority. I want to do two. we'll see how that goes.

super_effucktive should be starting up too (Used to be dick or treat) for those who want to write the saucy stuff. Speaking of saucy, unconventionalcourtship is back. I dont' write a lot of AUs but I do for this. That said, holy shit harlequin and mills & boon blurbs are so cringe. I know I want to do a Hazbin one and honestly my boys would be perfect for this but the blurbs are so awful. I do kinda wish they'd open this to some other romance publishers (I swear the gay ones are this bad)

When I write for Unconventional Courtship, I take the blurb I think I can do something with and edit to my heart's content. No one is going to check to see that your blurb is real or where it comes from. Just so it's in the style of Harlequin and you're good to go. You could likely make up your own blurb and then write the story and no one but you will know!

Oh, we LOVE Surreal Estate! I didn't know S3 started tonight--that's awesome! We usually watch it on Hulu, so I'll have to investigate our streaming options.

Also, I'm glad the tornadoes didn't get you, and I hope the muscle relaxer has a positive effect on your pain situation!
