Checking in for days 8-11. A few hundred words of nonfic each day plus between 70 and 100 for a drawer fic draft on days 9-11.

I realised today that my current untypical lack of writing motivation/inspiration might well be brain fog from a new med I'm getting used to, as I'm also generally super unmotivated and uninspired, and have a hard time getting going. *sigh* I've started to use my trusted method of forcing myself to write at least an alibi sentence of fic, no matter if I feel like it or not, and it seems to work. Still no inspiration but I'm polishing up a rough drawer fic draft, so it _is_ some kind of progress.

Oct 11th - 1642 words. An expanded ficathon fill, four sentences on my 1character tables, and the start of a challenge fic that I might be able to make work for one of my spook_me fics, even though the pics I got didn't work with the fandom and characters I wanted to use. I'll flick through the older fic galleries and see if I can find other pics that will give me some inspiration.

I did on the Raven one, but the two cyborg pics didn't feel right for the fandom I want to use. Still haven't figured out the why and how of the cyborg being where it is and posing a threat, but that will hopefully come as I continue writing.

good luck. Yeah my cannibal one is iffy at best but at least its closer to what I had in mind than last years (then again I STILL love last year's)

Fics often take their own directions. They may not be what we originally intended, but that can be a good thing.

Just re-read what I've got so far, and I'm happy with it, but not sure where it's going. My main character is wary for reasons he can't explain, but the others are at least listening to him. So next I think I need to set up the cyborg before bringing them all together. I'll think on that for a day or two, because Monday is a drabble writing day so I won't have time to continue with the fic.

Fandom from 1977, The Fantastic Journey. Only 10 episodes, but there's a TV channel where I am that has been showing it, so I started watching it again (hadn't seen it since '77, maybe '78), and I'm on about my 5th or 6th rewatch, plus I found it on YouTube, so... Catching new details with every re-watch, which is helping to flesh out the characters. Terrible special effects of course, but I love the characters.

Now you know someone else who is *grins* I've started another drabble collection for the show, only three drabbles so far, but I'm doing two 1character tables for two characters from the show, and I have plans to expand my sentences into drabbles. Also written quite a few one-shots for various challenges, but I want to flesh those out more before posting elsewhere. The more times I re-watch, the more details I catch, and the more plotholes I find that need filling. I just need to find time...

Thanks! There are only three drabbles so far, but I'm aiming to post at least one a week, and some longer pieces when I get them into postable condition! When I went looking for fanfic myself, I only found one. It's short but good.

Somehow I need to get screen capture sorted and make myself an icon or two for the show.

At 15, slash wasn't even on my radar, but my god, I'm seeing it now!

Day 11: 200 words exactly! (Well, 204 words if you count the title, which I do because UpNote does.) A Lucifer crackfic double drabble in which Trixie learns that Trixie isn't actually short for Beatrice, as they'd always told her, but is instead something else, as a consequence of her mother being a fan of a show.

titles are hard. they totally count. good job (and I need to go look at this. I liked that fandom loads.

After reading it, it's one of those things that I like it, but I'm mad that I like it — I think the poem was very well-written, but I don't agree with Poe's anti-science viewpoint.

OOPS! That comment was intended to go to a comment from a few days ago, where you had recommended Poe's "Sonnet—To Science"!

What I had actually intended to comment here was to agree that titles are hard, except for when they're totally easy. Sometimes I'll come up with the title first and the story grows organically from there ("TWICE as many alphas" is an example of that), while at other times titles just refuse to come (which is why the second "Madame Park's Academy" story is still called "Madame Park's Academy II").
