Christmas Wish list

Even though I'm usually naughty, that doesn't mean I don't want a visit from Santa. So check out fandomwishlist  and make requests of you own and you can look at my list here. I'm not TOO greedy.

And now I'm off to a teaching retreat. SNOOZE. And my new jump drive died...already. And I'm covered with welts. I have no idea why. It's an allergic reaction but the ONLY new thing I've touched all day is a library book....

It IS an old Elizabeth Peters. It might be loaded with mildew...and I'm not enjoying the book. I thought I liked this series, having read a much more recent one. Maybe not. I hate hate hate how Amelia Peabody talks to the reader (this is the second in the series)

I don't remember her talking to the reader in the ones that I've read but it's been forever since I've read an early book in that series. I keep getting the ones where Ramses is married to Nefrit or whatever her name is. Of course, I rather like Ramses, so....

Bleah. I like him when he's talking like a dictionary and past then, when he's a teenager, etc. Ramses is quite an amusing kid. I'd even be happy with books just revolving around him, Nefrit and David, personally.

I've got my fingers crossed. In the last book I read, Ramses was quite worried about his getting up there in age parents.

Then again Peters was born around the dawn of time so I'm not sure if she's still writing but I think she had a new one last year

Yes, she's been around forever (I found a book she'd written in the 60's once) but then again, she's been around forever. If she stops writing, we'll probably know she's dead.
