It was a lovely sunny drive that turned into an amazingly moonlit one.

Mom is mad that I wanted to go to the store tomorrow. I'm supposed to be helping to put up the tree. Oh, this will be good. Every year it's the same thing (well not in the last few because I never could make it back in time but for most of my life...) I hang the ornaments. She rehangs them because I do it wrong. I string lits. SHe restrings them because I did it wrong. By the end, I'm strangling her with the tinsel.

This year, you should just cut to the chase and go directly to the strangling. It'll save you time, and her the aggravation.

But it seems to me the enjoyable aggravation is all at your expense. Which makes it something like child abuse. So this year, tell her, "Decorate your own lousy tree, ma! I'm going to the store!"

Then kiss the top of her head on the way out the door.

Luckily, my parents weren't wierd about the tree. Us kids just put ornaments wherever and my mom and dad stood back and took pictures. lol

she put the lights on herself tonight while we both drank appletinis. I was wrapping gifts using glue stick since we ran out of tape

Mom stuffs the tree in a plastic bag. Ornaments, lights and all. No decorating.

It's kind of...weird.

Then again, redecorating after all the work would probably make me nuts, too.
