Questioning Traditions

Personal Traditions - Angel & Connor post- NFA
Connor had never seen his father drunk before so it was quite a sight to see Angel swaying beerily to and fro making his way to the bar. “Spike said you’d be in the closest Irish bar getting shit-faced, something about tradition and damned if you aren’t? Wanna tell me about it?”
Angel signaled for another Guinness and didn’t start his tale until he and Connor were served. “It’s a wake...today’s the day I met your mom and she killed me.”
“Drinking sounds like a plan.”
“Finally, we agree on something.”
Father and son slugged back beer in unison.

Date: 2006-04-18 11:13 pm (UTC)I really, really like this one. It's sad but hopeful and yet there's still this wound that's never going to heal and it's funny in places and you did it all in a hundred words and it's just really good.
Mmm, run-on sentence.
Anyway, really great work. I also liked your Buffy Love Month entry this morning, but I had to run to class, like, the minute I finished reading it so I didn't have time to leave feedback. But really good work there, too. You always deliver.
