Oh to my human anatomy students - I guess finals put the fear of ME in you. Over half of the first class through got 100% on their lab final and no one scored under a C.

Ditto my gen bio students where my A students slacked off a bit but all the ones a cat's whisker from an F got 100%. See you COULD do it all along. You chose not to.

I've been given my marching orders for commencement. Nothing like having to sit in the blistering heat in a cap, gown and hood. I just got my uniform too. Ah, all velveteen chevrons and cheap polyester. My head's apparently big since the mortar board doesn't want to fit right. And since I know some of you were curious as to the colors of my hood, it's blue, yellow and green (I have a lot of degrees).

Now I have to actually BUY a dress and heels since I have neither here. All my heels dry rotted in FL (thank you, you stinking state) and the only two dresses I have are sun dresses which frankly i probably COULD wear under this and might depending on how damn hot it is out there.

And to my dumbshit neighbors, I don't mind you playing with your three year old (even if it IS frisbee) but we have a COURTYARD. Go play in it. Why are you on the sidewalk where he keeps smashing my garden and coming close to my window?

ETA - Ah, well it was DAD's brilliance for the above. Mom's out there now and they're in the courtyard...

That just baffles me, why not do a reasonable amount of work all year and then not be worrying about passing, why do people do sod all through the year and then spend 2 weeks in a blind panic doing nothing but studying? I was exempt from exams my first year at uni as I scored high enough on the tests through the year, while others spent May doing nothing but studying, I relaxed in the sun.

I have no idea. I know I saw it in my fellow students and now I see it with some of my oh so brillian students

Yea, not every department did it, but the Politics did, I was just told, "Yea, you've passed into second year, you don't need to sit the final."

I need to order my own hood now that I know I'll actually have to wear it a couple of times a year. Mine is dark blue and gold. Pretty!

"Gosh, I really want to be a better, more educated person. I KNOW! I'll go to a university. .... Wow, this is fun, this is what I want to do with myself. But this woman is talking a lot. Eh, can't be that important; I'm here, that's what matters. I'm making my dreams come true! .... What? I have to get a GRADE? Woah, hey, why didn't they tell me that when I registered!"

You should scare your next class. Tell them you not only count physical attendance, but mental attendance. And make a point to jot it down when you catch them not paying attention. :)

I had a prof in grad school who DID that. And he pulled me aside with another group because I wasn't participating enough. Thank god the other students are like Chris, WTF, she talks EVERY class
