Dialogue Drabble
Jun. 28th, 2004 12:46 amSince I'm totally new to this, here's hoping I don't screw this up (and thanks to all the friends who prodded me into this)
"Father, tell me again about Utah."
"I’ve told you that story many times now, Steven. Surely you’d rather hear another story."
"But you always tell that story before we go to sleep."
"Then I need to find you another story."
"Not one from the Bible, Father. Those ones...some of them frighten me."
"That is not necessarily a bad thing, Steven."
"Tell me about that place, how it’s different from here."
"Home is very different from here, Steven. Life isn’t so hard. At night, we could look up and see the stars."
"One day we’ll see those stars, I promise."
